Locking Entries

Overview

Similarly to L7 LIMS worksheets, Notebook Entries can be locked to prevent additional changes to the entry. Once an Entry has been locked, its status is considered Locked.

Note

Any collaborator whom the Entry has been shared with has the ability to unlock/lock the Entry, except collaborators with “Can View” permissions.

Manually Locking

When viewing an Entry, you can manually lock the Entry by selecting the Lock button. The Entry is then in a read only view, preventing changes from being made.

Once locked, the Entry’s Status will indicate the Entry is locked and by who.

Manually Unlocking

To re-enable editing, select the Edit button. The Entry’s status will change from Locked to Editing.

Re-enabling editing in a fully reviewed and completed Entry will remove all signatures and return the Entry's status to Editing. The PDF report and the History tab will maintain a record of all previously collected signatures.

Auto Completion and Locking

Entries that undergo formal review will be automatically locked upon completion of the final review signature.

You can still unlock by the Entry by selecting Edit, but the signatures will be removed and will need to be signed again before the Entry can be marked as Completed.
