How-to: Force Password Reset
Issue:
When creating a user, the option to select the "Force Password Reset" checkbox is not available. Are there certain conditions that need to be met to enable this functionality? If creating a user in a yaml file, how can the "Force Password Reset" option be set to yes?
Solution:
There is currently not a way to set "Force Password Reset" value to "true" via yaml file
Users should be seeded in IAM before Roles
Once Users and Roles are properly seeded in IAM, the "Force Password Reset" checkbox should appear (see screenshot below)
An Admin can then check the "Force Password Reset" checkbox in IAM and then save
This will require the user to reset their password the next time they login
It is recommended customers not utilizing single sign on (SSO) provide ESP users with strong login recommendations such as establishing strong passwords with a certain number of characters, one capital letter, one special character, etc.
